Kiziletesikela Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is at Jiabosar on the north bank of the Ulungur River. The Kiziletesikela Formation was named by Xinjiang Party of Regional Geological Survey and Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Science (1974), and was published by Hou Hongfei et al. (1979). Its name came from the Kiziletesikela Village in Fuyun County, northern Xinjiang. Following the naming of the Kiziletesikela Fm, Xinjiang Compiling Group for Regional Stratigraphic Scale (1981) included it in the Jiabosar Fm. Considering the different lithology of these two formations, Xiao Bing (1990) suggested that the previously defined Kiziletesikela Fm should be maintained.
